Privacy policy

NZ Directory (“we”, “us”) publishes a curated directory of New Zealand tech companies at nzdirectory.co.nz. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

• Submission details: when you submit a company, the company's name, website, category, description, and your contact name and email address.
• Correspondence: emails you send us about listings, reviews or removals.
• Basic analytics: aggregate, privacy-respecting usage data (pages viewed, referrers). We don't build visitor profiles or sell data.

How we use it

• To review, publish and maintain company listings.
• To contact you about your submission or listing (review outcome, badge checks, invoicing for paid tiers).
• To understand how the directory is used, in aggregate.

What we publish

Only company-level information appears publicly: name, website, category, description, HQ location, founding year and any social links you provide. Your personal contact email is never published.

Third parties

We use a small number of service providers to operate the site: hosting, email, payments and analytics. They process data only on our behalf. We don't sell or rent any information.

Retention and removal

Listing data is kept while the listing is live. You can request an edit or full removal of your listing at any time. Email us and it will be actioned promptly. Submission correspondence is kept for our records for up to two years.

Your rights

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you may request access to, or correction of, personal information we hold about you. Contact us to exercise these rights.
