Mint Innovation combines microbes with clean chemistry to recover gold, copper and other valuable metals from electronic waste, a low-carbon alternative to smelting designed for compact urban biorefineries.
Founded in Auckland in 2016 by Will Barker and Ollie Crush, Mint operates a commercial-scale plant in Sydney and is building its first US facility, turning a growing waste stream into urban mining.
