Original Contemporary Art Gallery

Located in the heart of Otautahi Christchurch, The Arts Centre Te Matatiki Toi Ora is New Zealand's largest collection of category one heritage buildings. Held in trust for the people of Waitaha Canterbury and visitors, The Arts Centre is renowned as a hub of arts, creativity, culture and education. The post-earthquake restoration sees 20 of the 23 buildings complete. Restored buildings are significant landmarks and platforms for activities and experiences, including exhibitions, concerts, education programmes, workshops, films, festivals, creative residencies and much more. 30 organisations call The Arts Centre home, including galleries, cinemas, museums, boutique retailers and artisan eateries, art hotel and there are 10 venues to hire.

Toi Auaha is situated in the city's artistic heart and the former YHA site has been transformed into a space that hosts working artists in a variety of disciplines. The facility is managed by the CCC Arts Team as part of the implementation of Toi Otautahi, the city's art strategy. The house has 12 studios, which house a range of creatives including photographers, painters, writers, weavers, jewellers, musicians, fashion designers and printmakers. There are also larger community spaces that can be used for workshops, hui, and wananga.

Let Visions Art Studio support you in any form of creative art experience. Visions can teach all levels of artist from beginner to advanced. We have after school classes for school children from 5-16 years old. Don't forget our children's birthday events. Take a look at the photos or come up with a new creative idea. Our group art sessions a full of fun and collaboration. Either working on an individual art work or a large combined piece for the workplace or office. Visions have catered birthday parties and events so ask us how we can help you.

This is Katies private working studio. Katie also teaches one off pottery workshops and hosts pottery parties (for adults). Every couple of months she opens her studio to the public for pottery sales.

Play Drama Workshops is an organisation that runs after school clubs, holiday workshops and drama workshops for ages 5-16! These clubs and workshops focus on two main goals: increasing creativity, and increasing confidence. Nickie aims towards these goals by focusing on two areas of drama practice; devised theatre and adaptation. At PLAY! Workshops children are encouraged to inject their own ideas into performances and the balance of working towards said performances (at the end of term of the end of a workshop) and lots of different drama games create a great springboard for confidence building, working on self-esteem, growth of character, public speaking, learning to work in a team and more.
