Dunstan Road is a tiny, artisan vineyard and winery in Central Otago.
Set in the beautiful, dramatic, rugged landscape of The Alexandra Basin, the area is described as having some of the most viticulturally significant soils in New Zealand.
The rich alluvial soils of the Waikerikeri river gravels in the Alexandra Basin produce wines with a minerality and complexity of fruit, creating a distinctive style.
Marc Hatfield and family purchased the property in 2002 and began planting vines. The site was slowly altered from rabbit-infested barren paddocks to a productive and irrigated vineyard.
Today the vineyard is a tiny 2 Hectares of vines, the majority of which are Pinot Noir with individual rows of each, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer and
