The current owner, Jaswant Singh Minhas, is originally from the Punjab region of India, and a chef by trade.He started working at Shiraz when he arrived in New Zealand, juggling shifts alongside his business management studies. He bought that Shiraz Indian restaurant in 1998. At that time it was opposite Forum North, a site that was later turned into a carpark. From there, four new branches eventually opened, in Dargaville, Kamo and Whangarei. Jas has a passion for delivering authentic Indian food and a unique taste of Indian culture to his customers.
