Mayur Dance Academy specialise in teaching and organising programs on the Indian dance forms of Kathak, Bharatanatyam and Bollywood in Wellington, New Zealand. Our objective is to promote Indian Dance forms. Bharatanatayam is an Indian Classical dance form that originated from the temples of South India. Kathak is an Indian Classical dance form that originated from the traveling bards of ancient northern India known as Kathakars or storytellers. Bollywood is a dance form that emerged from the Indian cinemas, and fuses various dance forms.

A premier Kathak, bollywood and folk dance school in Wellington run by Parita Pathak Bose. Parita is a trained Kathak and bollywood dance teacher and an innovative choreographer. With over 20 years experience in Kenya, India and now NZ, she started Shivam Dance Academy, NZ-SDANZ in 2009 in Whanganui and Wellington.

From Rumba to Reggaeton, Cuban dancer and choreographer Rafael Ferrer Noel performs and teaches a range of Afro-Cuban dance styles including Rumba, Son, Mambo, Cha Cha Cha, Cuban Salsa/Casino and Reggaeton, as well as Afro-Cuban Contemporary dance. Rafael also sings and plays percussion in a number of Wellington-based bands including his very own Afro-Cuban jazz bands MafereFUN Yemaya and AfroKan, as well the Cuban Duo Madera Fina and Trio Son de Cuba .

Zumba fitness is a Latin based dance work out and it is awesome! It is known for being exercise in disguise and because every class feels like a party. It is suitable to any fitness level and/or dance experience I have been doing Zumba(r) for several years and I just love it. I love spreading happiness in class.
