Mamaku Point Conservation Reserve is a very special place on the north-eastern coastline of Rakiura Stewart Island, Aotearoa New Zealand.
The rugged 172-hectare headland contains an extraordinary variety of flora, including some of the oldest native podocarp forest in the country, and is a thriving habitat to over 128 native species, including 26 native bird species, bats, invertebrates, marine mammals, and a thriving population of kiwi.
We welcome schools to experience conservation in action by staying in our unique school camp facility, while other visitors can take guided kiwi spotting tours, or stay amongst the kiwi in our 5 Star PurePods. Groups can also arrange short term stays in the school camp facility.
