High School Old Boys Rugby Football Club

The High School Old Boys Rugby Club is one of New Zealand's most distinguished rugby clubs, with a proud tradition stretching back well over a century to 1901. Currently HSOB, also known as The Polar Bears, field teams in all Canterbury Metro Club Rugby Open Grades, as well as Colts (U21's), Womens, Senior Girls, Under 5's (Polar Cubs) and Junior Teams from Year 1 - 8. HSOB also runs a Tri Rugby Team for players with Special Needs and in 2023 the HSOB U85kg Light Bears were the New Zealand Champions of the National U85kg Club Competition. The HSOB Rugby Club has produced 31 All Blacks and 2 Black Ferns.
