Kia ora!
I like to teach with enthusiasm, spontaneity and humor as well as careful diagnostics of cello technique, to generate a rewarding and often accelerated learning experience.
The cello is a generous instrument - even the beginner can enjoy it from the very start. I try to keep it that way - I have been teaching cello for over 30 years, and am still passionate about it!
I studied the cello with Professors Gmelin and Metzmacher in Germany and later with Euan Murdoch at Victoria University (now NZSM), where I investigated various approaches to cello teaching. I am a registered teacher and an associate member of IRMTNZ (Itinerant Registered Music Teachers NZ).
