The Whalers Sports club was established in 1989. In 2024 The Whalers Sports Club celebrates 35 years as a club.
Behind the club is 115 years of whakapapa through prominent whanau names such as the Asher, Barclay, Mcleod, Ririnui, Hikurangi, Wharepapa te mea, te mea, te mea, who were involved in the first NZ Maori Rugby League Team who toured Australia in 1908.
Today the Whalers Sports Club mana runs strong from the juniors' grades starting with U6 all the way through to our Masters grades.

The Whalers Sports Club offers a range of opportunities from volunteer, coaching, and managing support to player-pre-season training, support to higher level playing, and Kiwi tag.
