Established in 1987, Heron's Flight was Matakana's original Cellar Door. Continue down the long drive to discover their recently constructed Tasting Room, which is adjoining the winery. With 3 generations living on the property, you will likely be greeted by a member of the family, who will share some history of Heron's Flight - and offer you tastings of the wines produced onsite from the Italian varietals; Sangiovese and Dolcetto. All wines (as well as some white wines and prosecco from other producers) are available by the glass. You can also select items from the Tasting Room's Deli section, and 'Create Your Own' platter or picnic to enjoy amongst the vines.
