Aroha Island is a 12 ha sanctuary in the Kerikeri Inlet and is a short 12 km drive from Kerikeri. You can visit as a day visitor from 9 am to 6 pm daily or stay overnight in a range of high quality accommodation options - including a 3 bedroom holiday home (sleeps 6 people); two bush cottages (sleep 4 and 3 people) and powered and unpowered campsites alongside the inlet beach or close to the bush. While on Aroha Island you can stroll the private beach, kayak the inlet, take a bush walk, look for birds and check out the information in the Eco Centre. When staying at night you can self-guide to look for the resident North Island Brown Kiwi in their natural habitat - this is a rare opportunity for local and overseas visitors.
