Meeting through the Fire Service, Chris and Helen shared a passion for hard work and the attraction of the on-going 'challenge' as a firefighter, with the high pressure situations, think on your feet, helping people in need, no days the same occupation. During her 8 months in Antarctica "wintering over" as a fire fighter for the USA base McMurdo Station 2022 Helen kept her non- running sanity in cheque by focusing all her efforts to help Chris from a far ,not only believe, but achieve great things in his first attempt / first running event New Zealand's toughest adventure race "The Revenant".
