At Avalon Childcare, we value respectful practice and align our values and teaching alongside Emmi Pikler and Madga Gerber. We respect the children in all aspects of their being, and learning, providing them with resources that will stimulate their imagination, and thirst for discovering themselves with all their senses. We strive for the children to be independent, focused, and caring towards others, themselves, and the environment. The following quote from Magda Gerber reflects our centre. "Childhood is not a race to see how quickly a child can read, write, or count. It is a small window of time to learn and develop at the pace that is right for each individual child. Earlier is not better".
