When I was getting my Bachelor of Applied Science Degree - my first year's programs were typed onto punched cards and I knew how to use manual T-accounts for a general ledger system. I had to continually update my skills. Now I find myself helping my friends start up their business: Lindy's Loos. Establishing a cashbook in Excel was all that was necessary at the beginning but this now needs to be improved for next financial year as they have grown. Once they need to register for GST then maybe it will be Xero or MYOB. Similarly their website needs continual upgrading as the business grows. It may even be necessary for me to develop an Android App to help price jobs for them. if you are still "stuck in your ways" then contact me.
