Whimbrel Engineering & Architecture

Whimbrel is a Christchurch based architectural and structural engineering design practice run by James Carr. In our architectural work we specialise in the design of small to medium size residential and commercial buildings, with a focus on carefully detailed and environmentally responsible new traditional architecture and considered alterations to heritage buildings. We also do structural engineering design of new houses, residential and commercial buildings, as well as alterations and seismic strengthening to existing houses and buildings. This being Christchurch, much of our work consists of engineering reports on earthquake damaged houses and designing foundation repairs and replacements.
