I was a direct entrant to Auckland Medical School in 1972. I interrupted my medical studies due to family reasons and completed an honours degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering at Canterbury University. I returned to medicine subsequently and have worked at my Epsom clinic since 1993. Since that time I've had some 180,000 patient contacts. I'm extremely experienced.
Since I started my training, Medicine has changed a lot and the rate of change is accelerating. The internet has made it much easier to keep abreast of the current understanding of diseases and their treatments. I read continuously, and regularly attend educational meetings. My medical knowledge is up to date.
